GO FURTHER, FASTER

GO FURTHER, FASTER

Texas Skyways, located in the beautiful Hill Country just northwest of San Antonio, operates from the privately-owned Boerne Stage Airfield (5C1).

The simple fact is this: Compared to the high cost of new aircraft, making enhancements to your existing aircraft is a very economical alternative. Since we incorporated in 1985, our goal remains the same. We exist to make airplanes perform better and safer at an affordable price. Spending a large percentage of our annual income on engineering and testing, we have obtained forty-seven STC's to date with more on the drawing board.

OUR TAKEOFF STORY

OUR TAKE OFF STORY

Our late founder, Jack Johnson was ultimately a pilot for 70 years and highly passionate about the performance of his planes. He earned the FAA’s Wright Brothers prestigious “Master Pilot” award, which recognizes individuals who over a 50 year span have exhibited professionalism, skill, and aviation expertise while piloting aircraft.

In 1994, just nine years into business, Texas Skyways, Inc. was issued its first engine modification and installation Supplemental Type Certification (STC).

Since that time Texas Skyways, Inc. has continued to work on engineering & flight testing STC's for the Cessna aircraft, not just for our purpose, but for all Cessnas.

  • We helped develop STC's for the present Western Skyways, Inc. of Montrose, CO for the Cessna 421 and its engines.

  • Another STC was developed in conjunction with South Dakota State University for the use of Ethanol fuel in the Cessna 180 and 182 aircraft up thru the 182R model.

  • Flight testing was done in Piqua, OH for the approval of the three-blade Simitar and Buccaneer Propellers for our modified engines and regular engines to allow for more speed and climb for all Cessna aircraft.

With the 47 STC's we've obtained, Texas Skyways, Inc. has modified over 2,500 Cessna's in the USA and foreign countries and we are well known throughout the general Aviation community.
